CONFERENCE ON ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT
In view of the lack of information and experience shown by many professionals both in the carrying out and in the evaluation of these environmental studies, ECOCIENCIA, in association with the program LEADER II organized a conference on this subject.
This conference took place on 5.06.1998 in the Conference Hall of the Consell Insular de Ibiza y Formentera.
For this purpose Dra. PILAR ANDRES of CREAF (CENTRE DE RECERCA ECOLOGICA I APLICACIONS FORESTALS) has been invited to speak.
Mrs. PILAR ANDRES has a Doctor´s degree in Science (Department of Ecology). She is an investigator at CREAF since the foundation of the center in 1989, where she is responsible for the ongoing programs since 1992.
Dr. PILAR ANDRES also collaborates with the "Estudio Ramón Folch" since 1996. She is a founding member of the thematic net about city and sustainability, sponsored by the "Generalitat de Catalunya."
The conference dealt with general information about environmental impact assessment, its history, legal features, and explanation of the methods to follow in its elaboration.
Invited were all technicians of the local government and members of the College of Engineers, Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Biologists, etc.
In annex notes of the studies done on the environmental impact and news articles appeared in the Diario de Ibiza.
